We have a twist to our stocking tradition! We do the 12 days of Christmas and every day starting 12 days before Christmas you reach in and get one surprise out!! We started this when the kids were small! It helped with a few things! No being bugged to open presents early, the stocking was special and not ignored because of so many presents and my favorite it made Christmas last a lot longer! :)
